The State of Florida provides Free Pre-Kindergarten

to all 4-year-old children..

The criteria established is that the eligibility is determined based on the fact that the child must live in Florida and be 4 years old by September first (1st) of the current school year.

​

If their fourth birthday falls between February 2nd through September 1st in a calendar year, parents can postpone enrolling their child in VPK that year and wait until the following year when their child is 5 years old.
