Lycée Franco-Américan International School
MISSION STATEMENT
Teaching an open-minded multicultural community of lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.
Keeping our students' learning and well-being in mind, we provide a challenging academic environment, multicultural diversity, and bilingual instruction in an international school that fosters creativity and critical thinking.
Preschool
French preschool is a safe place dedicated to fulfillment and language.
Its main mission is to motivate children to want to go to school, to learn, grow and assert their personality.
These first years of school establish the educational and pedagogical foundations on which students' learning is based and developed for their entire schooling.
Elementary School
The Official French Elementary School Program consists of five years of education. These five years are divided in 2 main “cycles of learning”
The first 3 years are the Fundamental Learning Cycle (“Cycle d'Apprentissages Fondamentaux” - Cycle 2) and the next 2 years are the Skills Consolidation Cycle (“Cycle de Consolidation” - Cycle 3).
Middle School
After primary school, students move to the secondary level, which is divided into two stages.
The first stage, Le Collège (Middle School), is composed of 4 years of study, for students ages eleven through fifteen (similar to a US middle school).
Students receive a Brevet des Collèges upon its completion at the end of 9th grade.
